This will provide superfast connectivity between India and the US. Demis Hassabis, CEO of Google DeepMind, believes that this new route will not only speed up AI operations, but also create new employment opportunities by directly connecting various locations in the two countries.

Visakhapatnam to be Google’s Global ‘Entry Point’

A massive ‘International Sub-Sea Landing Station’ is to be set up at Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh as part of this comprehensive plan by Google. The station will be the main gateway to Google’s global network in India. From here, India will be connected not only to the US, but also to Singapore, Australia and South Africa. Apart from this, four additional fiber routes will be added to further enhance domestic connectivity.

Google has taken great strides not only in infrastructure, but also in developing human resources. Pichai announced the launch of ‘AI Professional Certificate Program’ in India. This 1.25 lakh crore investment by Google will radically change the data center capacity and cloud infrastructure in India. “We will be partnering with government agencies and local research centers.
