In today’s era, WhatsApp has become an important part of our lives. Be it elders at home or school-going children, everyone remains connected with their loved ones through this app. But in this age of technology, there is always a fear – children may not get access to any wrong content or they may get trapped in the trap of some unknown person. To end this concern, WhatsApp has brought a revolutionary feature, which is named ‘Parent-Managed Accounts’

What is this special feature of WhatsApp?

WhatsApp’s ‘Parent-Managed Accounts’ feature is specially designed for children under 13 years of age. The biggest feature of this feature is that now parents will be able to keep a complete eye on their children’s WhatsApp account. Meta aims to provide children with this feature a safe digital environment where they can only talk to their family and trusted friends.

Parents will have complete control

After this new update, parents will be able to decide what their child is doing on WhatsApp. From privacy settings to managing contacts, everything will be in the hands of parents. The most reassuring thing is that after this feature is activated, children will be able to send messages or voice calls only to those people whose number is saved in the phone. This means that no unknown person will be able to trouble your child.

These features will be banned

Keeping in mind the safety of children, WhatsApp has removed some features in this special account. Children who use ‘Parent-Managed Accounts’ will not be able to see or update WhatsApp status. Apart from this, they will also not get access to features like WhatsApp channel, Meta AI and ‘Disappeared Messages’. With this, children will be limited to only important conversations instead of getting entangled in useless things.

You will get notification about every small thing

This system of WhatsApp is so smart that if your child saves a new contact, blocks someone or reports a chat, an immediate notification will reach the parent’s phone. With this, you will be aware of who your child is interacting with in the digital world at every moment.

How to start this service?

This feature is very easy to setup, but there are some conditions for it. First of all, parents have to keep their and child’s phones together and link both the accounts by scanning a QR code. It will be mandatory to enter the date of birth of the child during registration. Keep in mind that this feature will work only for children below 13 years of age. If the age is more than this, this feature will not be activated.
