Big Blow For Rajasthan As Sam Curran Ruled Out Of IPL 2026 Season
The Rajasthan Royals all-rounder Sam Curran has been ruled out of the upcoming IPL 2026 season due to a groin injury.
Sam Curran, who was traded along with Ravindra Jadeja from Chennai Super Kings for Sanju Samson, had struggled last season with 114 runs and one wicket for CSK as the side finished at the bottom of the IPL points table for the first time.
Recently, he made his appearance for England in T20 World Cup 2026 where England los the game to India in the semi finals.
Having represented CSK and PBKS in the past, he has amassed 997 runs in 64 IPL game and also claimed 59 wickets.
Sam Curran has also etched his name after joining Punjab Kings for INR 18.5 crore which was the most expensive player in the league at the time.
With less than 10 days before the start of the IPL 2026 season, the injury and withdrawal list has been filling with cricketers.
Three cricketers have been named in the IPL 2026 withdrawal list on March 19 alone. The list includes CSK’s Nathan Ellis and Sunrisers Hyderabad Jack Edwards, who pulled out of the league due to Hamstring and undisclosed injury respectively.
CSK CEO Kasi Vishwanathan has already confirmed Ellis’ exit from the competition and noted that the franchise is currently in hunt for a replacement.
It is reported that Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals are in the hunt of overseas all-rounder as the injury concerns hit the side.
Meanwhile, Lockie Ferguson has also confirmed that he will be missing a significant part of the tournament due to the birth of his child. On the other hand, it is reported that RCB’s Josh Hazlewood will be missing a few matches of the season.
As per the IPL 2026 schedule, Rajasthan Royals will play their first match against Chennai Super Kings on March 30 at Barsapara StadiumGuwahati.
