Cricbuzz now reports that the ICC is in no mood to move Bangladesh’s matches out of India. This is a big blow for Bangladesh cricket team. However, in response to the demand, the ICC has considered changing the venue of the Bangladesh team. Instead of Kolkata and Mumbai, Bangladesh’s World Cup matches could be held in Chennai and Thiruvananthapuram.

The ICC and BCCI have informed the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association and the Kerala Cricket Association that they are considering shifting Bangladesh’s league stage matches to Chennai and Thiruvananthapuram. TNCA and KCA are yet to speak directly to the ICC, but are reportedly ready to host the Bangladesh matches.

The 2026 T20 World Cup schedule has not changed yet. As per the current schedule, Bangladesh will play their first three matches in Kolkata and their last league stage match in Kolkata. Bangladesh will face West Indies on February 7, Italy on February 9 and England on February 14. Their final match will be held on February 17 in Mumbai. If the ICC changes their venues, three matches could be held in Thiruvananthapuram and one in Chennai, as they are already hosting seven matches.
