England cricket team captain and star all-rounder Ben Stokes has announced his retirement from international cricket. 35-year-old Stokes’ last match will be the third Test against New Zealand to be played at Trent Bridge. Before the start of the match on Sunday, he informed his teammates about his decision. The news of Stokes’ retirement has come as a big blow to English cricket, because he has been one of the most reliable players of the team for the last several years.
Ben Stokes made his international debut for England in 2011. He was made the Test captain in April 2022. During his career, he has delivered many match-winning performances with both bat and ball and has been instrumental in leading England to many historic victories.
