Big boost before HIL: Harmanpreet said – League matches will be of international level, will come in form

Experienced India players Harmanpreet Singh and Hardik Singh are eyeing a good performance in the Hockey India League to hone their skills and boost their confidence ahead of the busy season ahead. The Indian team has a very busy year ahead with FIH Pro League, World Cup and Asian Games scheduled. Hockey India League will start from January 3 and is a golden opportunity for the players to get into rhythm before the busy season. Indian captain Harmanpreet, who plays for JSW Surma Hockey Club, said that the level of the league is at par with international tournaments and it will help the players to get in form.

He said, “The Hockey League is happening at the right time for the members of the Indian team. Top level hockey is played in it and every match is like an international match and we wanted the same before the Pro League, World Cup and Asian Games. Harmanpreet said, “Being the captain of the Indian team and Surma, I feel that this is a golden opportunity for the young players to learn by playing with the seniors.” Olympian Hardik, captain of the HIL Governing Council team, said, “This season is very important for me and the team.
