BIG BREAKING: Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh passed away, breathed his last in Delhi AIIMS, wave of mourning in the country.
New Delhi. Former Prime Minister of India Dr. Manmohan Singh passed away today at AIIMS, Delhi. 92-year-old Dr. Singh was admitted to the hospital in the evening due to difficulty in breathing. After primary examination, he was taken to the Emergency Department (ICU), but despite all the efforts of the doctors, he could not be saved.

Dr. Manmohan Singh was the Prime Minister of India from 2004 to 2014. Before this, he had also been the Finance Minister and Finance Secretary of India. He is considered to have played an important role in the liberalization of the economy during the government of Narasimha Rao. As Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh led the country to unprecedented growth and development for more than a decade. Under Dr. Singh's leadership, India saw the highest growth rate in its history, averaging 7.7% and became a nearly two trillion dollar economy. After Dr. Singh came to power, India jumped from tenth place to become the world's third largest economy by 2014, raising the standard of living of millions of people.
At the core of Dr Singh's idea of India was the belief in not just high growth but inclusive growth and waves that could lift all boats. This belief was embodied in the passing of bills that ensured citizens the right to food, the right to education, the right to work and the right to information. Dr. Singh's rights-based revolution ushered in a new era in Indian politics.
