Big camera change in iPhone 18 Series! Apple can use Samsung sensor instead of Sony

Tezzbuzz Desk- Users have always praised the camera quality of the iPhone, but now Apple is preparing to make a big change in its next iPhone 18 Series. According to reports, Apple can use Samsung’s camera sensor instead of Sony’s in iPhone camera for the first time.

Till now, iPhone camera sensors have been supplied entirely by Sony, which were manufactured in Japan. But according to the latest information, Samsung will manufacture camera sensors for the iPhone 18 Series and their production will be done at the Samsung factory in Austin, Texas, USA.

iPhone 18 Series Camera Sensor: Samsung will invest heavily

Samsung already operates a large semiconductor manufacturing facility in Austin. The company can install new production equipment for this new project. Along with this, hiring of engineers, technicians and managers has also been started.

According to reports, Samsung is planning to invest about 19 billion dollars (about Rs 1.58 lakh crore) for the expansion of this factory. Such a huge investment is an indication that Samsung is completely serious about this Apple project.

If testing and setup is completed on time, production of the new camera sensor could begin as early as March 2026. After this, this factory can become an important component supplier for Apple iPhones.

Samsung Sensor in iPhone: What will be the special features?

A 3-layer stacked design can be seen in the new camera sensors that Samsung is working on. In this, instead of spreading the sensor layers to the sides, they will be stacked on top of each other.

With this technology, the camera will be able to capture more details, give better performance in low-light, consume less power, and analyze photos faster in bright and dark areas. Overall, if Samsung’s camera sensor comes in iPhone 18 Series, then the photography of iPhone can be more powerful than before.
