Bajaj Auto is all set to launch a new 349cc engined version of its popular Bajaj Dominar 400 bike soon. This change is being made mainly to benefit consumers from lower GST (18%). The currently available Dominar 400 has a 373.3cc engine and is subject to 40% GST. However, the new 349cc engine is likely to result in lower tax rate and price difference.
Price
The current Dominar 400 starts at around Rs 2.40 lakh (ex-showroom). The official price of the new 350cc version is yet to be announced, but the GST reduction from 40% to 18% may make the bike more affordable.

Name and Performance
Although the engine capacity has been reduced, there has been no change in the name of the bike. The company has retained the name ‘Dominar 400’ to maintain the brand identity. The current model gets 40PS of power and 35Nm of torque. The performance information of the new 350cc model is yet to be revealed.
Features
Apart from the engine, the new 349cc Dominar has not undergone major changes. It will have all the major features as before. The bike gets 43mm USD forks at the front and Nitrox multi-step adjustable monoshock suspension at the rear.

Apart from this, 17-inch wheels, front 110/70 and rear 150/60 tubeless tires are given. For braking, it gets 320mm front and 230mm rear disc brakes. Dual-channel ABS is offered as a standard feature for safety.
