Big change regarding Khatiani land in Bihar, government took strict action

Patna. The state government has taken an important decision regarding Khatiani land in Bihar. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha said in the Assembly that complaints of deliberate hiding or destruction of land records have been received at many places. Taking action on this, the government has started a campaign to check and search records in all the districts.

Transparency through digital tracking

The government aims to reduce land disputes in the future. For this, a new technical system is being implemented, which will keep the records of every land safe in digital form. Now it will not be easy to hide or destroy any document. The Deputy Chief Minister also made it clear that in case of any technical mistake or dispute, the court will always be open.

Only 45% land is pure Khatiani

According to state data, only 45 percent of Bihar’s land falls entirely in the Khatiani category. About 5 percent of land records are missing or deliberately erased. To deal with this problem, the administration has started the work of checking files and records in every district.

Irregularities found in Buxar and Gopalganj

Many irregularities have been found in the old survey, especially in Buxar and Gopalganj districts. During the 1989 survey in Dumraon area, some lands were wrongly recorded in the ‘Unabad Bihar Government’ account. Local people had filed a complaint against this. The Deputy Chief Minister clearly said that strict action will be taken against the guilty officers or employees.

The main objective of this new initiative is to root out land related disputes and to protect the rights of every citizen. Digital records and administrative monitoring will now significantly reduce the chances of land related fraud in future. With this step, Khatiani land records in Bihar will become secure, transparent and reliable, which will also strengthen the confidence of the general public.
