There will be several significant changes in the new gas cylinder booking and e-KYC rules from July 1. Additionally, the new rules will apply to millions of Indian railway passengers and credit card users. The government has also taken some stringent measures regarding fees for filing income tax returns and obtaining new passports.

LPG Gas and Aadhaar Updates
The 90-day grace period given by the central government to LPG consumers to complete their e-KYC is now over. Moreover, the improved situation in the international market is likely to bring down the price of LPG gas significantly. Meanwhile, UIDAI has provided an important facility to Aadhaar card holders to update their email IDs free of cost. From July 1, people will be able to update their ID through the Aadhaar app completely free, without paying a fee of ₹75.
Railway and ITR Rules
Indian Railways is gearing up to impose more fines on ticketless passengers. After the special approval of the President, the rules will be tightened to maintain normal and safe conditions in the railway premises. The deadline for filing ITR for the financial year 2025-26 has been fixed as 31 July 2026. Those who do not file their tax returns within this deadline will face huge financial penalties.

Sale of expensive cars and petrol-diesel
Auto companies like Kia and Tata Motors are increasing vehicle prices by a significant 1.5% to 2%. The government has also completely removed the limit on purchase of fuel from retail petrol pumps for commercial customers. Now, all transport companies and factories will be able to purchase petrol as per their requirement from retail pumps without any restrictions. A new EV policy will also be implemented in Delhi with a huge budget of Rs 15,000 crore to promote electric vehicles.
