Big conflict in West Bengal politics: Sanjay Raut…

Tension has increased in state and national politics after the West Bengal Assembly election results. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has refused to resign despite the defeat, after which the political debate has intensified.

Mumbai: Sanjay Raut has supported Mamata Banerjee’s stance while giving a statement on the political situation after the West Bengal election results. Raut said that Mamata Banerjee not resigning is not just a matter related to power, but he sees it as protecting democracy and the people’s mandate. According to him, this step is also a kind of political protest against the functioning of the Central Government and the Election Commission of India.

Sanjay Raut’s support: ‘Fight to save democracy’

After the election results, Mamata Banerjee clarified that she will not resign from the post of Chief Minister. He refused to fully accept the election results and alleged that the election process in the state was not fair. According to Mamata Banerjee, this is not just an election defeat but the result of a “conspiracy”. He said that his fight is not against any political party, but against institutional bias.

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut has openly supported Mamata Banerjee’s decision. He said that Mamata not resigning is a step taken to protect democracy, and not an attempt to remain in power. Raut claimed that this situation raises serious questions on the policies of the central government and the functioning of electoral institutions.

Serious allegations against the Election Commission

Raut also made sharp remarks on the Election Commission of India. He alleged that the Election Commission has failed to play an impartial role and biased behavior has emerged on several occasions. According to him, if questions are being raised on the election process, then it is a serious warning for democracy. He appealed to the opposition parties to unite and protect democratic institutions.

In the West Bengal election results, Bharatiya Janata Party won a clear majority by winning 207 seats in the 294-member assembly, while All India Trinamool Congress was reduced to just 80 seats. This big change has completely changed the politics of the state and is being considered as a big blow for TMC which has been in power for a long time.

Effort for unity of opposition

Raut also said that Mamata Banerjee has received the support of many opposition leaders of the country. Referring to the Maharashtra political crisis of 2022, he said that even at that time questions were raised regarding democratic processes. He told that former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has also sent a message of support to Mamata Banerjee.

This entire incident has sparked a new debate in Indian politics—is it just an electoral defeat or a question on democratic institutions? One side is considering it as democratic dissent, while the other is calling it a political strategy to not accept the election results.
