Big crisis in Cuba right under America’s nose, the name of which US used to tremble, today it yearns for every grain.

The condition of Cuba, a Caribbean island located just 90 miles from the Florida coast of America, has gone from bad to worse these days. This communist country is currently going through the darkest and most severe crisis in its history. On one hand, the entire country is in the grip of a severe energy crisis, factories are closed and people have become dependent on every little thing; On the other hand, US President Donald Trump’s threats of possible military action have raised a question mark on Cuba’s existence. After being surrounded from all sides, Cuba has now approached the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). However, Cuban history was not always so bleak. There was a time when even the superpower America trembled at the name of Cuba and this small island was famous throughout the world. When America was also afraid of Cuba: Fidel Castro and the ‘missile crisis’ of 1962. History is witness to the fact that Cuba had maintained its strong political and military dominance from Latin America to Africa for decades. This influence of Cuba started with the historic revolution of 1959. During this time, Fidel Castro and Che Guevara together overthrew the brutal dictatorship of US-backed Batista in Cuba and laid the foundation of a staunch communist government. The emergence of a communist country right under America’s nose was Washington’s biggest strategic and diplomatic disaster. After this, in the year 1962, came the historic ‘Cuban Missile Crisis’, which brought the entire world to the brink of nuclear war. This was the most powerful period in Cuban history, when the Soviet Union (USSR) secretly deployed its nuclear missiles on Cuban soil. At that time America was afraid to directly touch Cuba. Cuba not only openly challenged America for decades, but also proved its military might at the global level by sending its troops to many revolutionary movements in Africa. How did a pauper become the companion of a superpower? Cuba became orphan after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Cuba’s decline began when Che Guevara, the poster boy of the Cuban Revolution, arrived in Bolivia to awaken a new spark of socialism in Latin America. There he was taken hostage and brutally murdered with the help of the American intelligence agency CIA. This was a huge ideological blow to Cuba’s global influence. After this, the biggest shock came in 1991. In fact, Cuba’s entire economy and military machinery depended on the Soviet Union’s massive financial support and extremely cheap oil. As soon as the Soviet Union disintegrated in 1991, Cuba became a complete orphan in international politics. The period that came after this in Cuba is called ‘Special Period’ in history. During this period, there was a severe shortage of fuel in the country, social unrest spread and millions of people, fed up with starvation, were forced to leave the country by sea and flee to America. Will Trump take revenge for the 30 year old plane crash? The threat of a coup is looming. In 1996, Cuba shot down two small American planes that violated its airspace. Now, almost 30 years later, the Donald Trump administration has taken this old incident as a shield and issued a court warrant against former Cuban President Raul Castro. Cuba is now afraid that after ousting Nicolas Maduro from power in Venezuela, America can use any pretext to launch a direct military attack on it. Today’s Cuba is in no position to compete with America like it did in 1962. Due to the political turmoil in Venezuela, the supply of oil from there to Cuba has completely stopped, due to which Cuba’s power grid has completely collapsed. Day-long blackouts are now common across the country, factories are completely at a standstill and hospitals are surviving only on small generators. Havana on the verge of destruction: Foreign Minister cried in the United Nations Security Council. Amidst this fear and helplessness, Cuba has spread its bag in front of the world. At an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) on Tuesday, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parilla appealed to the international community for immediate diplomatic and economic help to save Cuba from this terrible humanitarian tragedy. “I implore the international community to unite immediately to stop this humanitarian disaster. It is time to show solidarity with the innocent Cuban people,” Cuba’s foreign minister said in an emotional appeal to the global forum. Actually, this hesitation of Cuba is not without reason; US President Donald Trump has publicly expressed his desire to carry out a coup in this communist country. Trump has openly warned that after Venezuela, Cuba’s capital Havana is his next military target, which has intensified the call for war in the Caribbean region.
