The state government committee told the real reason. It has clearly denied any political reason behind this reduction in the security of Sourav Ganguly. According to West Bengal Home Department sources, the security provided to VIPs and VVIP personalities in the state is periodically reviewed by a high-level Security Review Committee. This administrative decision has been taken only after the inputs received from the Intelligence Agencies and the report that Ganguly does not currently face any direct threat (Threat Perception). The committee says that VIP security is upgraded or downgraded only on the basis of proper use and requirement of security forces. Security was increased in the year 2023, now Ganguly returned to the old security circle. Let us tell you that in the year 2023, the security of Sourav Ganguly was increased from ‘Y’ to ‘Z’ category on the basis of the then security input. During that time, in view of some special circumstances, the state government had tightened their security arrangements.
