According to the report of India Today, BCCI can announce Team India for India vs New Zealand ODI series by the end of this week. The decision to select Ishan Kishan in place of Pant signals a change in the direction of the team, as the team management considers form and balance ahead of the last home assignment of the 2025-26 season.

With Ishan Kishan’s entry into the squad, not only will India get a backup wicket keeper for KL Rahul, but Ishan Kishan will also be a backup opener, who knows how to bat in the middle order as well.
