Big decision of Bihar government, announcement of implementation in the entire state

Patna. Bihar government has taken a big step towards improving the nutrition of children. Now eggs and peanuts will be given to children two days a week in Anganwadi centers of the state. The Social Welfare Department has announced to implement this new system in the entire state.

The government has made it clear that if eggs or peanuts are not given to children on the scheduled day at any centre, then people can lodge a complaint on helpline number 181. Bihar government believes that this new system will help in reducing problems like malnutrition and anemia in children.

Nutritious food will be provided two days a week

Under the new system, eggs and peanuts will be distributed among children at Anganwadi centers every Wednesday and Friday. The government says that this will provide protein-rich food to children and will help in reducing the problem of malnutrition.

Focus on children’s health

According to the Social Welfare Department, the objective of this scheme is to provide better nutrition, security and healthy childhood to the children. The department has described it as ‘another step towards a healthy childhood’. Experts believe that eggs and peanuts are good sources of protein, which play an important role in the physical and mental development of children.

The scheme will be implemented in the entire state

This initiative is being run under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) scheme. The government aims to provide nutritious food to children regularly in all Anganwadi centers of the state.
