Big decision of CM Yogi, good news for farmers of UP
Lucknow. Uttar Pradesh government is going to take another important initiative towards increasing the convenience and transparency of farmers. Taking forward Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s resolution of Digital Uttar Pradesh, now the Chief Minister Farmer Accident Welfare Scheme is being made completely online. Lakhs of farmer families of the state will directly benefit from this change, who will no longer have to visit government offices for compensation.
Completely online system from February 2026
The government has set a target to make this scheme completely digital by February 2026. A state-of-the-art web portal and software is being developed in collaboration with National Informatics Center (NIC). Through this, all the processes of application, document upload, verification and payment will be online. This will not only save time but will also eliminate paperwork and unnecessary delays.
Farmers will now get benefits sitting at home
Till now, the process of physical verification after online application in the scheme used to cause trouble for the farmers. After the implementation of the new system, farmers will be able to apply from their mobile or computer and will also be able to track their status in real time. This will end the hustle and bustle of tehsil and district offices and the possibilities of corruption will also reduce to a great extent.
Help up to ₹ 5 lakh in times of crisis
Launched in 2019, this scheme provides financial assistance up to a maximum of Rs 5 lakh to farmer families in case of accidental death or permanent disability. This amount is sent directly to the bank account of the beneficiary through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer), due to which transparency is maintained and assistance is provided on time.
high performing divisions
According to the report of the Revenue Council, by December 2025, applications of more than 29 thousand farmers have been approved in the state. In divisional wise figures, Lucknow division is at the forefront, while Gorakhpur, Ayodhya and Kanpur divisions are also among the better performers. This shows that the benefits of the scheme are rapidly reaching the farmers.
example of transparent governance
This digital initiative reflects the working style of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, in which emphasis is being laid on empowering common citizens, especially farmers, through technology. The objective of the government is to ensure that no eligible farmer is deprived of assistance and can get timely financial security without any hindrance.
