Big decision of CM Yogi: Modern playground will be built in every block of UP
Lucknow. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has launched an ambitious scheme to expand sports facilities in rural areas. Its objective is to provide the youth the opportunity of international level sports training in their nearby areas. Under this scheme, modern stadiums and sports complexes will be built in all the blocks of the state.
Modern stadium and facilities
The stadiums being built by the government will not be just playgrounds, but will be complete sports complexes. Their structure and facilities will be as follows:
Synthetic Athletics Track: A track of at least 200 meters so that youth can practice track and field events.
Multipurpose Hall: For indoor games and competitions.
Open Gym: Open gym for fitness and training in every block.
training facilities: Players will receive technical and tactical training through professional coaches and expert trainers.
Instructions for District Magistrates
The Chief Minister has given clear instructions to the officials that quality and time limit should be kept paramount in the construction of the stadium. Sports budget should be used only for infrastructure, competitions and promotion of players. Meetings of sports development committees should be held regularly.
Sports colleges will be ‘centres of excellence’
There is a plan to convert sports colleges into ‘Centers of Excellence’ to nurture sports talent. These will be linked to Major Dhyan Chand Sports University. Its objective is to provide sports as well as academic and technical guidance to the players, so that they become capable of competing at the national and international level.
Impact on employment and health in rural areas
With this initiative, sports will not be limited to entertainment only. New employment opportunities will be created in trainers, coaches and event management at the rural level. Participation of youth in football, athletics and other sports will increase, which will improve their physical fitness and mental ability. This initiative will also improve the performance of youth in future recruitment examinations like Army and Police.
