Big decision of Delhi government: Now biometric attendance is mandatory in all offices
New Delhi. The Delhi government has taken important steps to make government work more disciplined in the capital. Now biometric attendance has been made mandatory for employees in all government offices. The purpose of this decision is to ensure punctuality and bring transparency in the work.
The complete record of attendance of every employee will be recorded in digital form through biometric system. With this it will be clearly known which employee came to the office and when he left. The government has indicated that action will be taken against arriving late, leaving early or not marking attendance.
Office returned to old times
The government has clarified that now the office timings will remain the same as before. Earlier the timings were changed due to pollution control measures, but now that system has been abolished.
MCD Office: 9 am to 5:30 pm
Delhi Government (GNCTD) Offices: 9:30 am to 6 pm
Same rules for all employees
Under the new order, everyone from small employees to senior officers will have to mark attendance through biometric machines only. It also includes senior officers like Additional Chief Secretaries, Secretaries and Heads of Departments. Where machines are already present, it will be necessary to keep them running in perfect condition, whereas in offices where this facility is not available, it will be installed soon.
Daily and monthly reporting system
Under this new system, the attendance report of senior officers will be sent to the Chief Secretary by 12 noon every day. Also, the overall report of every month will be submitted to the Chief Minister. These reports will include complete details of the officers’ timely arrival and departure.
