Big decision of IRCTC! Reservation timings changed from today, rules for online tickets, control on brokers

Indian Railways: For the passengers of Indian Railways, IRCTC has implemented a major change in the rules related to online ticket booking from today. Under the new system, the timing of reservation has been changed and the Aadhaar based verification has been made stronger than before. Railways says that the purpose of this decision is to provide relief to the common passengers and to stop the arbitrariness of the ticket brokers.

Till now, during Tatkal and normal ticket booking, all the seats were filled within a few seconds. The main reason for this was the booking done through automated software and fake IDs. IRCTC was continuously receiving complaints from passengers that they were not able to get the tickets on time, while the brokers were selling the tickets at high prices.

What changed in reservation timing? (Indian Railways)

IRCTC has now decided to manage the timing of ticket booking in a better way. Under the new system, booking access has been phased to avoid excessive load on the website and mobile app simultaneously. This will reduce the problem of server slowness or crash and users will get a better experience.

Aadhaar’s power increased

In the new system, special priority is being given to Aadhaar verified accounts. A user will not be able to book tickets more than a fixed limit. This will have a direct impact on the brokers blocking tickets on a large scale.
According to railway officials, identifying fake IDs will be easy if the account is linked to Aadhaar.

Passengers will get direct benefit

Common passengers will benefit the most from this decision of IRCTC. Now there will be no need to make repeated efforts for ticket booking. Transparency in Tatkal ticket booking will also increase and the chances of the right passengers getting seats will increase.

Strict action against brokers

IRCTC has made it clear that accounts violating the rules will be blocked. If necessary, legal action can also be taken. Railways believes that these strict steps will effectively stop black marketing of tickets.
