Big decision of Modi cabinet, Nashik-Solapur 6-lane greenfield corridor got approval, Ashwini Vaishnav gave information about the project.

The last cabinet meeting of the year 2025 was held on Wednesday, 31 December 2025 under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In which projects worth thousands of crores have been approved. Meanwhile, Maharashtra has also got a big gift. Cabinet meeting has approved 6-lane greenfield Nashik-Solapur corridor (total length: 374 km). Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav organized a press conference to give this information.

Let us tell you that this project will be built on BOT (toll) model and its total cost will be Rs 19,142 crore. This new corridor will connect important regional cities like Nashik, Ahilyanagar and Solapur and provide further connectivity to Kurnool. This project is being considered an important step towards strengthening the integrated transport infrastructure under the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan.

Special attention to modern infrastructure on 6-lane highway

According to the information, special care will be taken of modern infrastructure on this 6 lane highway. Under the project, 27 major bridges, 164 minor bridges, 5.6 km long viaduct, 5 rail over bridges, 10 interchanges, 17 entry-exit points and 14 rest areas will be built. This will not only make travel easier, but will also provide better facilities to passengers and goods vehicles traveling long distances.

Mohana to Koraput Highway Project gets approval

Another big proposal has been approved in the Union Cabinet. The Cabinet has given approval for widening of 206 km long National Highway 326 in Odisha. This 206 kilometer long highway will cost Rs 1526 crore. It was told that this highway will be better for connecting the areas inside Odisha. The time limit for completing this project has been kept at 2 years. With the completion of this project, the connectivity of the eastern region of Odisha to the southern region of the state will become even better.

Let us tell you that in the cabinet meeting of the Central Government on the last day of the year 2025, two important highway projects which will give new impetus to the country’s road infrastructure have been approved. Giving information about these decisions, Union Minister Ashwin Vaishnav said that the total cost of both the projects is about Rs 21 thousand crores. These projects are likely to strengthen road connectivity, logistics and economic activities in Maharashtra and Odisha.
