Big decision of Modi government, metro network will be more than 400km long

Along with this, approval has also been given for the expansion of Phase-V (A) (Delhi Metro Phase 5A) of Delhi Metro. Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that 13 new stations will be constructed under Phase-5. Modern tunnel boring machines will be used for this.
13 stations will be built
Ashwini Vaishnav said that the Union Cabinet has approved Phase-5A of Delhi Metro, which will include a total of 13 stations. This project will cost Rs 12,015 crore and under this a 16 km long new metro line will be laid. After this expansion, the Delhi Metro network will be more than 400 kilometers long, which will be one of the largest metro networks in the country.
How many people use Delhi Metro?
Giving information, the Union Minister said that on an average about 65 lakh passengers use Delhi Metro every day. And on busy days this number reaches 80 lakhs. After the completion of (Delhi Metro Phase 5A), passengers will get the benefit of better connectivity and time saving.
Tunnel boring machines will be used
Ashwini Vaishnav said that the deadline for the construction of Phase-5A of Delhi Metro Rail Project has been fixed for three years. Most of the construction work will be done underground using tunnel boring machines, so that there is minimal impact on traffic and urban life is not affected. This project will further strengthen the transport system of the capital. (Delhi Metro Phase 5A) is being prepared keeping in mind the future needs.
