Big decision of the government, two new airlines got approval
New Delhi 24 December 2025 : Indian Aviation There has been news of relief for passengers in the Indian aviation sector. Recently, when the system of the country’s largest airline ‘Indigo’ was disrupted, thousands of passengers were stuck at the airport for hours. This incident had exposed the bitter reality of the dominance of elite players in the aviation sector. Now the central government is gearing up to break this monopoly and give more options to the passengers.
- ‘Al Hind Air’ and ‘Fly Express’ get green signal
The Central Government has issued No Objection Certificate (NOC) to two new airlines, ‘Al Hind Air’ and ‘Fly Express’. This simply means that in future, air passengers will not have to depend on just one or two big companies. Due to increasing competition, ticket rates are also likely to decrease.
- Only two groups have 90% market share
Indian skies are currently ruled by two big conglomerates, IndiGo and Tata Group (India). According to statistics, about 90 percent of the passengers in the country use the services of these two groups. When a technical fault occurs in one of these airlines, the entire system collapses and the common man suffers greatly.
Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu has shown proactivity to reduce this risk. He said that the government is promoting healthy competition in the market. In the last one week, the Ministry has met with the teams of three new companies. This decision of the government is considered a big step towards providing relief to the public from the high fares and flight delays.
Al Hind Air is a part of Kerala-based ‘AlHind Group’, which is already a big name in the travel and tourism sector. Whereas Hyderabad based Fly Express has vast experience in courier and cargo services. Shankh Air has already received NOC. Shankha Air plans to connect cities like Lucknow, Varanasi, Agra and Gorakhpur.
Companies like Star Air and Fly91 are already operating under the government’s ‘Udaan’ scheme. Now with the arrival of these new players, the connectivity of Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities will become stronger.
