Big decision regarding pension in Uttarakhand: CM Dhami’s order – Pension will be credited to the account by 5th of every month!
Dehradun. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has issued strict instructions, giving huge relief to the pensioners of the state. Now it will be mandatory for the money of all the pension schemes of the Social Welfare Department to reach the bank accounts of the beneficiaries by the 5th of every month. CM Dhami has clearly said that any kind of delay in pension payment will not be tolerated.
In the pension installment distribution program organized at the Chief Minister’s residence, CM Dhami released the pension installment of Rs 139.82 crore for November 2025 through ‘One Click’. 9 lakh 38 thousand 999 beneficiaries of the state have directly benefited from this payment. These include the elderly, widows, disabled, farmers and people from weaker sections of the society.
Crackdown will be tightened on ineligible beneficiaries
Chief Minister Dhami gave strict instructions to the departmental officers that regular internal audit of pension schemes should be conducted. He warned that government help should reach only those who truly deserve it. It will not be acceptable for any ineligible person to get pension benefits.
The CM also ordered that all social security schemes of similar nature be integrated. This will eliminate duplication and the benefits of the schemes will reach the real needy faster.
9.38 lakh beneficiaries of 8 pension schemes
The Social Welfare Department is currently running 8 major pension schemes. These include old age pension, widow pension, disabled pension, farmer pension, abandoned pension, maintenance grant, pilgrim priest pension and dwarf pension. Under all these schemes, pension is being sent directly to the account of more than 9.38 lakh beneficiaries every month through DBT.
The digital payment system has not only increased transparency but the beneficiaries no longer have to visit government offices. The Chief Minister said that the pension system of Uttarakhand is becoming an excellent example of Digital India.
‘Book’ will be available in place of bouquet in government programs
Taking another important decision, CM Dhami ordered to give priority to local products in all government functions of the state. Now ‘Book’ will be presented instead of bouquet in any government program. The Chief Minister described it as a time, money and resource saving innovation.
He said that all government programs will now be organized in a more simple manner. This is not only a good administrative tradition but will also strengthen the cultural identity of Uttarakhand. Secretary Shridhar Babu Adaki, Additional Secretary Banshidhar Tiwari and senior officials of the department were present in the program.
