Big demonstration of parents against the decision of DPSG, parents protested outside DM office
The decision of a school in Ghaziabad has broken the patience of parents. Angered by the sudden extension of children’s study time, angry parents took to the streets and now the matter has reached the administration. There is a lot of anger among parents regarding this decision.
The study timings in Delhi Public School (DPSG) located on Meerut Road were extended without any prior notice. Angered by this change, parents first protested outside the school on Saturday and then reached the District Magistrate’s office in large numbers on Monday and demonstrated. Angry parents staged a protest at the office gate shouting slogans and demanded immediate action.
Support of Indian Parents Association
This demonstration was led by the Indian Parents Association (IPA). The parents gathered under the banner of the organization raised their voice against the school management. Slogans like ‘DPSG Hi-Hi’ and ‘DM come out’ were raised during the demonstration. Parents say that taking such a decision without listening to them is completely wrong.
Accused of ignoring rules
Vinay Kakkar, national vice president of the association, alleged that the school did not follow the rules related to education. He says that before any major change, discussion with parents is necessary, but this was not done here. He also said that the aim of the new education policy is to reduce the pressure of studies on children, whereas this decision is putting additional burden on the children.
Parents believe that increasing study time will increase fatigue and stress in children. This can have a negative impact on their health and mental development. He says that it is not right for small children to stay in school for a long time.
Questions on transportation system also
Another big problem has come to light in this case regarding transportation. Parents allege that the number of buses in the school is less, due to which children are being transported in different trips by increasing the time. Due to this, children have to stay in school unnecessarily for a longer time. Some parents also say that after complaining they were advised to change the school.
Demand for action from administration
After the demonstration, the parents submitted a memorandum to the District Magistrate. He demanded that the extended time should be withdrawn until the consent of the parents is obtained. Also, the school management should be instructed to follow the rules and improve the facilities.
