Although MNS has a small voter base here, Sandeep Deshpande is known for his focus on local issues, especially infrastructure and housing. Apart from this, his direct approach and work has gained him popularity especially among Marathi speaking voters in Worli.
Pawar vs Pawar in Baramati
After the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, conflict between the Pawar family is once again being seen in Baramati. This time Sharad Pawar's grandson Yugendra Pawar is challenging Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. NCP is supporting his candidature in its traditional stronghold. Yugendra is preparing for his political debut under the supervision of Sharad Pawar. He has earlier played an important role in the management of Supriya Sule's Lok Sabha campaign.
On the other hand, Ajit Pawar has also been the undisputed leader of this constituency, having won the seat seven consecutive times since 1991. In 2019, Ajit Pawar won a decisive victory by securing around 1.95 lakh votes and 83.24 percent vote share.
