But taking advantage of this enthusiasm, cyber thugs are laying a new trap. Cyber Dost, the cyber security initiative of the Home Ministry, has issued an alert regarding this fraud. New trap in the name of ‘Salary Calculator’
These days an APK file named ‘Salary Calculator’ is being sent on WhatsApp. It is claimed that by downloading it you can calculate your new salary after the 8th Pay Commission. But actually it is a dangerous malware. As soon as you install this file, thugs take over your phone.
Hack the phone as soon as you download the APK file
Cyber criminals access your mobile’s personal information, bank details and even OTP through the .APK file. After this, the money is cleared from the account within a few minutes. Many people, in the greed of increasing salary, are clicking on the links without thinking and are incurring losses.
Government never sends app on WhatsApp
Cyber agencies have clearly said that the government never sends APK files through WhatsApp or any messaging platform. Downloading any unknown link or file can prove costly. If you want information related to salary or pay commission, then trust only the official websites.

What to do if you get such a message?
If you also get such a message, delete it immediately and do not forward it to anyone. Make your colleagues and family members also aware about this. Think twice before clicking on suspicious links.
