Friday has brought great news for lakhs of elderly, disabled and widowed women of Bihar. Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary’s government has directly transferred the honorarium of Rs 1100 to the bank accounts of 97.84 lakh beneficiaries of the state under the Social Security Pension Scheme. This money has been sent through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), due to which there is no interference of any middleman. As soon as the messages came on their mobiles, smiles returned on the faces of the beneficiaries and they described this decision of the government as very helpful.
Increase from Rs 400 to Rs 1100, now relief will be available every month
Pension beneficiaries told that till some time ago they used to get only Rs 400 under this scheme. In this era of inflation, it was no less than a big challenge to meet the expenses of household and medicines in Rs 400. The government has now increased this amount to Rs 1100, which is no less than a big gift for the needy. Along with this, the government has also implemented a new rule for timely payment. Now this pension amount will reach the accounts of the beneficiaries regularly on the 10th of every month.
Support for old age, no worries about medicines and expenses
Chando Devi, who lives in Badi Patan Devi Colony of Patna, expressed happiness over this decision of the government and said that the cost of diseases and medicines is the biggest problem in old age. Now by getting Rs 1100, he has got a big support in his old age. He said that now he will not have to lend a helping hand to anyone for small household expenses or his medicines.
Life will become easier for common people
Manju Devi of Patna City, remembering the old struggles, said that earlier it was very difficult to survive with Rs 400, but now with this increased amount, many basic needs of life can be easily fulfilled. At the same time, Arvind Kumar Das, a resident of Chai Tola, said that this joint pension scheme of the Central and State Government is providing the strength to the lowest and middle class families of the society to live with dignity. This sensitive step of the government is being appreciated in the entire state.
