Couples wishing to avail the benefits of this scheme will have to get married in the court. This amount will be given to the couple only upon registered marriage. Apart from this, after marriage you will also have to apply for this scheme in your district office. In the form, it is necessary to have caste certificate of the bride and groom along with marriage certificate and some other important documents like citizen certificate, Aadhaar etc.

Under this scheme, for financial help, the beneficiary i.e. the couple will also have to open a joint bank account. After the application, if the couple is found eligible then an amount of Rs 2.5 lakh will be deposited in their joint bank account.

To avail the benefits of this scheme, it is necessary for the bride and groom to belong to different castes. In this, one should be general and the other should be from Dalit community. The government is running this special scheme to promote this.
