Big gift to Buxar: Investment of Rs 1700 crore, JK Cement and Coca Cola plant started

Sanjay Singh, Patna. Two big industrial projects established at a cost of Rs 1,700 crore have been inaugurated in Buxar district of Bihar. Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary inaugurated the state-of-the-art JK Cement unit established at a cost of Rs 500 crore in Brahmapur Industrial Area. Spread over about 100 acres, this unit will produce 3 million tonnes of cement per year. This will ensure timely supply of high quality cement to Bihar and surrounding states.

 

Till now the company had to get cement from the plant located in Prayagraj, but starting local production will reduce both time and transportation cost. The Deputy Chief Minister said that this plant will be helpful in meeting the growing infrastructure needs of the state and will give new impetus to the construction sector.

Coca-Cola Bottling Plant in Navanagar

The Coca-Cola bottling plant, set up on 65 acres at a cost of Rs 1,200 crore in Nawanagar, was also grandly inaugurated. This unit has been constructed by Coca-Cola franchisee M/s SLMG Beverages Pvt. Ltd. This plant has a production capacity of 3.24 lakh cases (CS) per day.

Steps towards the target of one crore employment

The Deputy Chief Minister said that the NDA government under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is attracting huge investments under the new industrial policy. The government aims to create one crore jobs and employment opportunities in the next five years. He said that both these projects will provide direct employment to thousands of youth, while indirect employment will also be created on a large scale in transport, logistics and other supporting sectors. With the strengthening of the local economy, regional development will get a new direction.

Focus on environmental protection

Environmental balance has been given priority in both the industrial units. Waste water treatment plants have been provided and PET recycling is being promoted. About 40 percent of the campus has been developed as green area.

 

Deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary said that industry and government together can make Bihar industrially strong. These state-of-the-art plants established in Buxar will not only meet the infrastructure needs of the state but will also give a new identity to Bihar on the industrial map. This new start of industries on the land of Buxar can prove to be a strong foundation for the economic future of the state.
