Big help from America: Israel will get 25 fighter jets

News Desk. During the recent meeting between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump, a major defense deal was confirmed between the two countries. The Pentagon announced Monday that Boeing Co. has been awarded an $8.58 billion contract to design, build and supply 25 F-15IA fighter jets for the Israeli Air Force. It also includes an option for an additional 25 aircraft.

The deal further strengthens the long-standing military cooperation between the US and Israel. America has been a major supplier of arms to its closest ally in the Middle East. This deal will increase Israel’s strength.

Meanwhile, protests also took place in the US over Israel’s recent attacks on Gaza. Pro-Palestinian and anti-war groups called for Washington to end military support to Israel, but the current and former administrations continued it.

The Pentagon said the project will be completed by Boeing in St. Louis and the deal is expected to be completed by December 31, 2035. Experts say this move will further strengthen Israel’s air power and will also boost US strategic influence in the Middle East.

The advanced technology and high capability of the F-15IA aircraft will give Israel a significant edge in countering regional security challenges. The deal also reflects that the US and Israel security relationship is deepening over time, while the global and regional security landscape is constantly changing.
