Robertsganj/ Sonbhadra –
The district police has geared up for a permanent solution to the problem of jam that has been going on for years at the railway crossing located on the Robertsganj-Pannuganj road in the city. In view of the long traffic jam caused by the closure of the barrier during the movement of trains and the huge inconvenience caused to the general public, Superintendent of Police Abhishek Verma himself took command on Wednesday. Superintendent of Police Abhishek Verma conducted a surprise inspection of the railway crossing located on Pannuganj road.
He made an in-depth observation of the traffic jam situation on the spot and gave strict instructions to the officers to resolve it immediately. The Superintendent of Police made it clear that any kind of laxity in traffic management will not be tolerated. Under the guidance of SP, Area Traffic Officer, Dr. Charu Dwivedi took immediate action and installed folding barriers (dividers) on the spot. Under this new arrangement, the route has been effectively operated two-way. The deployment of police force has been ensured to maintain orderly queues of vehicles during closure of the barrier. Folding dividers will prove to be a milestone in curbing unorganized overtaking.
With the implementation of this well-organized system, there will now be effective control on the unorganized jam that occurs after the opening of the railway crossing gate. This will not only save time, but will also make it easier for essential vehicles like ambulances and school buses to find their way. The district police is continuously committed to prompt resolution of public problems and better traffic management. The Superintendent of Police has also appealed to the public to follow traffic rules and remain patient when the barriers are closed.
