Big initiative of Yogi government, good news for the farmers of the state!
Lucknow. Many important steps are being taken under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to make the agriculture sector modern and transparent in Uttar Pradesh. The state government is trying to make farming more systematic, accurate and profitable through digital technology. In this context, campaigns like Digital Crop Survey and Farmer Registry are being carried forward rapidly, so that farmers can directly get the benefits of government schemes.
Digital crop survey will strengthen agriculture
Digital Crop Survey campaign has been implemented on a large scale to collect accurate data of crops in the state. Detailed data of fields and crops is being prepared through this survey in both Kharif and Rabi seasons. Geo-referencing of a large number of revenue villages has been completed, so that it can be ascertained which crop is being grown in which area. Through this process, the government will get accurate information, which will enable better planning of agricultural schemes. Also, farmers will also be able to get the right assistance and facilities based on their crops.
Initiative to connect farmers with Farmer Registry
The state government has started the ‘Farmer Registry’ campaign for farmers in mission mode. Its objective is to create a reliable database in which every farmer’s information is secure and verified. A large number of farmers have joined this registry, including beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. Apart from this, such farmers are also being included in this system, who till now were not able to avail the benefits of any scheme. This will increase the scope of the government and help will reach more farmers.
Farmers will get benefits through transparency and speed
With the use of digital technology, the government aims to ensure that the benefits of schemes like crop insurance, agricultural subsidies and natural disaster relief reach the eligible farmers directly without delay. While earlier the paper process used to take time, now decision making will become easier and faster through digital data. This will not only stop corruption and irregularities, but will also strengthen the confidence of farmers.
Big step towards digital transformation in agriculture
This effort of the Uttar Pradesh government is being considered an important initiative towards making farming data-based and modern. Steps like digital crop survey and farmer registry can change the picture of agriculture sector in future. This initiative has not only brought relief to the farmers, but is also proving to be a strong step towards making them self-reliant by connecting them with technology.
