Big land scam in Lucknow: Organized gang selling land by making fake documents in the name of a dead person exposed

Mohanlalganj. Lucknow, Mohanlalganj Police has exposed a viciously organized gang that prepared fake documents in the name of a deceased person and sold his land. While arresting three accused in this sensational case, the police have also recovered an AC and LED TV purchased with the fraudulently earned money. The arrested accused have been sent to jail in judicial custody.
The case is related to agricultural land located in village Udaipur Nigoha of Mohanlalganj police station area. In this regard, Vimala Singh, wife of deceased Avadhraj Singh, had lodged a complaint with the police. She had alleged that her late husband’s land had been sold with the help of forged documents. Police investigation revealed that the land of Gata No. 296, area 0.449 hectare, located in village Udaipur Nigoha, was registered in the revenue records in the name of Ashalata Verma and late Avadhraj Singh as co-accountants. Avadhraj Singh had died on 16th February 2023, yet the accused presented a person as deceased in the sub-registrar office and got a fake deed of the land done. Investigation revealed that the accused were Rajkumar son of Mishrilal, Gyanendra Rajput son of Gaya. Prasad and Kamal Yadav, son of Shrikesan, prepared fake Aadhaar card, photo and other documents in the name of the deceased as part of a well-planned conspiracy. On the basis of these forged documents, the deed of about 17 Biswa land was done in the Sub Registrar Office, Mohanlalganj on 18th July 2024.

. At the time of deed of sale, another fake person by the name of Bhupendra Nath was also made a witness. During the investigation, it also came to light that the accused opened a bank account in the Kalli West branch of Bank of Maharashtra in the name of deceased Avadhraj Singh with the help of fake Aadhaar card, in which the amount received from the land buyer was deposited. In this case, the land buyer Hetram Pal, son of Ramchandra, resident of Sharda Nagar, Ashiana, Lucknow himself turned out to be a victim of fraud, who had given a total of Rs 7 lakh 20 thousand for the purchase of land through check and cash. According to the police, an online payment of Rs 45,500 was made in the name of Narayan Electronics on July 29, 2024 from a fake bank account, from which a 1.5 ton AC and a 32 inch LED TV was purchased. This transaction has also been confirmed by the shopkeeper. Mohanlalganj police on Saturday arrested the accused Rajkumar from Belhiya Kheda with AC and LED TV. After this, on January 18, 2026, accused Gyanendra Rajput was arrested from Atrauli Crossing police station, Mohanlalganj and Sarvesh was arrested from Raisingh Kheda police station area, Bijnor. Police is busy searching for other absconding accused, fake vendors and people associated with fake bank accounts. Police officials say that a thorough investigation of the case is going on and other people associated with the gang will be arrested soon.
