Big meeting of Gulf countries, condemnation of Iran’s attacks and big statement of GCC on US-Iran agreement.
GCC Secretary General Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi has talked about regional security and reducing tensions. In an important meeting held in Amman, he stressed that it is very important to maintain peace in the area. During this period, the agreement between America and Iran was also welcomed.

GCC ministers meeting held in Amman
A coordination meeting of ministers of the GCC countries was held in Amman, Jordan on Monday, 22 June 2026. In this meeting, Secretary General Albudaiwi said that the GCC supports diplomatic solutions to bring stability to the region. He described the MOU (agreement) between America and Iran as a positive step, which will reduce tension and increase security.
Agreement signed between America and Iran
An agreement was signed between the US and Iran on 15 June 2026. The salient features of this agreement are as follows:
- A decision was taken to immediately and permanently halt military operations, including in Lebanon.
- Both countries will respect each other’s sovereignty and borders and will not use force against each other.
- America will completely lift its naval blockade within 30 days.
- Iran will guarantee the safe passage of merchant ships from the Persian Gulf to the Sea of Oman.
- Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Turkey played important role in making this agreement successful.
Strong condemnation of Iranian attacks
Earlier, the 167th GCC Ministerial Meeting held in Manama, Bahrain on 10 June 2026 strongly condemned the attacks carried out by Iran on Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan. The GCC called it a violation of international law and a threat to regional security. It was made clear in the meeting that the security of the GCC countries is one and they have the full right to self-defense under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter.
Other security activities
Secretary-General Albudaiwi met with the ambassadors of Iraq, Italy and Kosovo on June 21 to discuss the international situation. Also, at the anti-terrorism list meeting on June 17, he expressed the need to further intensify coordination and security efforts between the interior ministries of the GCC countries.
