Big news: Big blow to railway passengers, now food will not be available at night during travel, IRCTC changed this rule…
New Delhi. If you like to have late night dinner, then you will have to change this habit during the journey. Now late night food facility will not be available in trains. Pantry service will remain closed from 11 pm to 6 am. During this period, neither food items nor hot water or tea will be available.
Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation-IRCTC (IRCTC New Food Rule 2026) has issued an order related to this. Due to this, now passengers having late night meal will have to pack tiffin from home or satisfy their hunger with the food items available at the station.
Regarding closure of this facility related to passengers, IRCTC has said that cleaning and other maintenance work of the pantry car will be done at night. To provide tasty as well as healthy food services to the passengers, special attention is being paid to the cleanliness of the Pantry Car.
Due to closure of pantry cars at night, the influence of illegal vendors in trains may increase. Under the guise of authorized vendors, illegal vendors will board the train and charge higher prices from passengers for tea per cup, water per bottle etc. This will not only cause trouble to the passengers but will also tarnish the image of the Railways.
