Big news for central employees, chance till June 15!
New Delhi. Important information related to the 8th Pay Commission has come to light for crores of central employees and pensioners of the country. The Commission has extended the last date for submission of memorandum, giving additional time to employee organizations and unions to submit their demands and suggestions. Now the concerned organizations will be able to send their proposals to the Commission till 15 June 2026.
This decision has been taken keeping in mind those organizations which were not able to submit their suggestions within the stipulated time limit. The Commission has clarified that this extended deadline will be final and no extension will be given after this.
Important meeting will be held in Kolkata in July
The 8th Pay Commission has informed that a two-day meeting will be held in Kolkata on 9th and 10th July 2026. The objective of this meeting is to directly communicate with various employee organizations, unions and representatives to seek their opinion on issues related to wages, allowances and service conditions. The Commission believes that only by understanding the suggestions of the employees, such recommendations can be prepared which are in accordance with the future needs and current economic conditions.
What is the procedure to attend the meeting?
Organizations who wish to present their views before the Commission will first have to submit their memorandum on the Commission’s online portal. It will be necessary to keep the unique Memo ID received after the application safe, because on the basis of this, permission to participate in the meeting will be given. The Commission has made it clear that no organization or representative will be included in the meeting without Memo ID.
Applications will be made through online mode only
The Commission has kept the application process completely digital. All memoranda will be accepted through the official portal only. Proposals sent by email, offline documents or in PDF format will not be considered. The objective of this system is to make the process transparent and systematic so that the record of all suggestions can be kept safe.
Eyes of employees and pensioners
The recommendations of the 8th Pay Commission are likely to impact approximately 49 lakh central employees and 67 lakh pensioners of the country. Increase in minimum basic pay, better fitment factor and other financial benefits have been demanded by employee organizations for a long time. Employees of Railways, Defence, Posts, Central Ministries and various government departments are eagerly waiting for the final recommendations of the Commission.
