Big news for ration card holders: Now the hassles of office are over, complete ration will be available through mobile only.

UMANG App My Ration: The Government of India is continuously working to make its services digital and easy. As part of this effort, a new feature, “Mera Ration” Has been added. This new update will greatly benefit lakhs of ration card holders across the country.

Now people will not need to go to government offices again and again for ration card information, nor will they need to carry their ration card with them all the time. Almost all the information related to ration will now be available directly on your smartphone.

What is ‘Mera Ration’ feature?

“My Ration” added to Umang app The feature provides a single platform for many important services related to ration card. With this feature, users can see complete information about their ration card sitting at home. It also helps you to easily find the nearest government ration shop. Also, by simply entering your ration card number, you can find out how much wheat, rice or other grains you get under the government quota. Additionally, this feature also lets you view your previous ration history, making it easier to understand when and how much ration you received in previous months.

How to use ‘My Ration’ feature in Umang App?

Using this feature is very easy. You just have to follow some easy steps.

• First of all, download the UMANG app from Google Play Store or Apple App Store of your smartphone.
• Next, open the app and register with your mobile number.
• Set a 4-digit MPIN to keep your account secure.
• After logging in, type “My Ration” in the search box on the home page. Type.

Here, you will see different services related to your ration card. Now you can see all the information by entering your ration card number. If you do not have your ration card number, you can also check the details using your Aadhar card information.

Big benefit for migrant laborers

This feature can prove to be very beneficial especially for migrant workers. Government’s “One Nation One Ration Card” Under the (ONORC) scheme, people working in other states can now use this app to find out which shop will give them ration at their new location.

Apart from this, this app will also increase transparency in the ration distribution system. Shopkeepers often make excuses like shortage or server downtime, but now people will be able to check ration stock information directly through the app.

Special arrangements have also been made to prevent fraud. Whenever someone takes ration through biometric (fingerprint) verification, he immediately gets a confirmation SMS on his mobile phone. This ensures that the ration reaches the right beneficiary.
