Big news for the people of Bihar, government will give grant up to ₹ 15 lakh

Patna. Bihar government has announced a big scheme to promote electric vehicles (EV) and encourage clean energy. Under this, a grant ranging from ₹ 75 thousand to ₹ 15 lakh will be given on the purchase of EV charging infrastructure and electric vehicles in the state. This decision will not only promote environmental protection but will also give a new impetus to e-mobility in the state.

Big grant will be given for setting up charging station

According to the Transport Department, incentives have been fixed in different categories for setting up EV charging stations in the state. The government will provide financial assistance for installing charging stations in housing societies, petrol pumps, hotels, bus terminals, parking lots and commercial areas. A maximum grant of up to ₹ 75 thousand will be given for installation of slow and medium speed AC chargers, while in some categories this amount can increase up to ₹ 2.25 lakh.

You will get more benefits at fast charging station

Maximum encouragement will be given to installation of high speed charging stations. A provision has been made to provide assistance up to a maximum of ₹ 15 lakh on installation of CCS fast charger. Its objective is to strengthen the high-speed charging network in the state, so that the use of e-vehicles becomes easy and convenient.

Benefits to women and SC-ST category

Under the e-vehicle policy, special incentives are being given to the weaker sections of the society and women. On purchasing electric two-wheeler, women and SC-ST category will be given assistance of up to ₹ 12 thousand, while the general category will get a benefit of ₹ 10 thousand. Apart from this, a provision has also been made to give a grant of up to ₹ 1 lakh to women for purchasing electric four-wheelers.

Promotion of e-three wheelers

The government has also decided to promote e-three-wheelers in place of traditional Jugaad vehicles. Under this, vehicle buyers of general category will get a grant of up to ₹ 50 thousand and people of SC-ST category will get a grant of up to ₹ 60 thousand. This step will not only promote safe transportation but will also create new employment opportunities.

Tax exemptions and other facilities

To promote e-vehicles, the government has also made a provision for exemption in motor vehicle tax. Up to 50 percent tax relief will be given on electric vehicles. This will make buying a vehicle even cheaper and more affordable.
