Big news on gas cylinder… Government limited the supply of LPG cylinders to 20 percent, essential services will get priority, read full news
Commercial LPG cylinders: Due to America-Israel and Iran war, there is a huge shortage of LPG cylinders in the entire country. Amidst the ongoing LPG crisis in the country, apart from increasing the gas prices, the government has made many major changes in the rules. Meanwhile, Rekha Gupta Government of Delhi has taken a big decision regarding commercial LPG cylinders. Delhi government has limited the supply of commercial LPG cylinders to 20 percent of the average consumption. After this decision, now about 1,800 commercial cylinders will be distributed daily in the national capital on priority basis.
According to the order issued on March 14, now the commercial LPG cylinders distributed daily in the city have been limited to about 20 percent of the average consumption. This decision has been taken following the instructions of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas so that essential services do not face fuel shortage during the crisis.
The Department of Food, Supplies and Consumer Affairs of the Delhi government clarified that the pressure on fuel supply routes has increased due to increasing military tensions at the international level. In such a situation, it is considered necessary to give priority to essential services. The purpose of this order is to ensure that hospitals, essential services, emergency institutions and essential business activities are not affected by fuel shortage. The government has decided to implement a controlled and priority based distribution system for this.
What will be the changes after the new order?
Under normal circumstances, around 9,000 commercial LPG cylinders are sold every day in Delhi. These cylinders are considered equivalent to 19 kg commercial cylinders and are used in hotels, restaurants, dhabas and many businesses. After the implementation of the new system, now only about 1,800 cylinders will be distributed daily. This quantity is about 20 percent of the city’s average daily consumption, which will be distributed in a controlled manner. The government said that this distribution will be completely priority based. In this, first of all LPG will be made available to those institutions which are connected with public services or emergency needs. Coordination will be done with the three oil marketing companies to implement this process. Through these, it will be ensured that despite limited supply, essential services continue to get fuel without interruption and essential activities in the city are not affected.
