Big planning of Gujarat Titans before IPL, team’s command handed over to this coach, has won series with CSK

Ahmedabad: Gujarat Titans have appointed former Australian opening batsman Matthew Hayden as the batting coach for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The franchise announced this on Tuesday. A two-time ODI World Cup winner and one of the most influential opening batsmen of his time, Hayden has had an illustrious international career.

He has extensive experience of batting in T20 and understands its nuances. Hayden represented Australia in 273 international matches across all formats, scoring over 15,000 runs and playing a key role in victory in several ICC tournaments. Gujarat Titans Director of Cricket Vikram Solanki said, “Matthew’s appointment comes at an important juncture in our journey. His experience at the top level and his ability to mentor emerging talent will prove vital for us in the coming season.”

Hayden said, “Good batting creates pressure. Great batting dominates the game. This is the standard we want to set in Gujarat Titans.” Hayden has also played 32 matches in the IPL. He will replace his former Australia teammate Matthew Wade who was the assistant coach of Gujarat Titans last season.
