Maharashtra’s ambitious Chief Minister Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana A big relief news has come out for the women associated with it. The state government has decided to once again extend the last date for e-KYC correction under this scheme. Now beneficiary women will be able to correct their e-KYC information till 30 April 2026. Information about this important announcement was given by State Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare.
In fact, this scheme has become one of the most popular schemes of the Maharashtra government, under which eligible women are given financial assistance of Rs 1500 every month. The objective of this scheme is to economically empower the women of the state and improve their standard of living. Lakhs of women have been taking advantage of the scheme since its inception.
However, due to the wide scope of the scheme, some cases of irregularities were also reported. According to reports, some ineligible beneficiaries and even men tried to take advantage of the scheme. After this the government made e-KYC mandatory to bring transparency in the scheme and ensure identification of genuine eligible beneficiaries.
The e-KYC process was launched in September 2025 and initially two months were given to complete it. Later it was extended to 31 December 2025 and then to 31 March 2026. But many women faced technical problems during this process. Especially, many beneficiaries chose the wrong option while doing e-KYC, due to which they started facing problems in getting the benefits of the scheme.
The government received a large number of complaints in this regard, after which the women were given another chance to correct their information. Now according to the new announcement, women can do e-KYC correction till 30 April 2026.
Giving information about this decision, Minister Aditi Tatkare said that the aim of the government is to ensure that no eligible woman is deprived of the benefits of this scheme. He said that the decision to extend the deadline for e-KYC correction has been taken especially for those women who had entered wrong information due to technical errors.
He also clarified that the list of final beneficiaries will be prepared only after the e-KYC process is completed. Under this, the names of women who do not fulfill the eligibility criteria of the scheme will be removed from the list. The government aims to ensure that the benefits of the scheme reach only genuine and eligible women.
According to experts, this step will increase both the transparency and credibility of the scheme. Also, it will ensure that government resources are properly utilized and only needy women receive assistance.
The government has also clarified that the names of women who do not make e-KYC corrections may be removed from the beneficiary list. Therefore, an appeal has been made to all the beneficiaries to check their information in time and make necessary corrections.
Through this scheme, the government is not only providing financial assistance to women, but is also taking a big step towards making them self-reliant. Women from both rural and urban areas are benefiting from this scheme, due to which positive changes are being seen in their lives.
At the same time, the administration has also advised that women should complete the e-KYC process only through the government official website or authorized centers and avoid any kind of rumors or fake information.
Overall, this decision to extend the deadline for e-KYC reform has brought relief to millions of women. This gives them another chance to correct their errors and continue availing the benefits of the scheme. Now it will be important to see how many women take advantage of this opportunity and complete their e-KYC process on time.
