Big relief to Bahubali MLA Anant Singh, acquitted in extortion case of Rs 10 crore
Patna: JDU’s powerful MLA Anant Singh has got a big relief from Mokama. Judicial Magistrate of MP-MLA Court Pankaj Kumar Malviya acquitted Anant Singh in the extortion case of Rs 10 crore. The powerful MLA was acquitted in an 11-year-old criminal case due to lack of evidence.

Along with Anant Singh, who is lodged in Beur jail of Patna, Bantu Singh was also an accused in this case. The special court also acquitted Bantu Singh due to lack of evidence. Mokama MLA Anant Singh’s lawyer Sunil Kumar said that this criminal case is of Shri Krishnapuri police station area, which was registered in 2014. Informant Raghavendra Pratap Singh had registered the case. It was alleged that four people including Bantu Singh had entered the house and demanded extortion and Anant Singh was asked to pay Rs 10 crore. After investigating the case, the police filed a charge sheet against Anant Singh. The researcher testified on behalf of the prosecution. Other witnesses in this case did not come to testify in the court.
