Big relief to India amid Iran-America war, Trump government gives permission to buy Russian oil, know what is the gameplan of 30 days

News India Live, Digital Desk Amidst the increasing war in Middle East, there has been news of a major diplomatic victory for India. Amidst the increasing military tension between America and Iran and the turmoil in the Strait of Hormuz, the Trump administration has given a big relief to India. The US Treasury Department has given a special exemption of 30 days to Indian refineries to buy oil from Russia. The purpose of this decision is to prevent oil prices from skyrocketing in the global market. Hormuz siege and ‘stranded’ war situation. Due to the war between Iran and America-Israel, the world’s most important sea route ‘Hormuz’ has almost come to a standstill. 38 Indian ships stranded: According to sources, more than 200 ships are stranded in this sea route, including 38 Indian tankers. Iran’s threat: Iran has made it clear that it will target American and Israeli ships passing through Hormuz, due to which the oil supply chain has completely collapsed. After all, why did America give permission to buy oil from Russia? America, which usually imposes strict sanctions on Russia, seems to be softening this time. US Treasury Secretary Scott Besant clarified that this exemption is only for those Russian oil cargoes which were loaded on ships before March 5, 2026 and are currently stranded at sea. Keeping the supply stable: America does not want the prices of petrol and diesel to go out of control across the world due to the war in the Gulf. India-US Partnership: Keeping in mind India’s energy security, the Trump administration has made this ‘stop-gap’ arrangement. Condition also attached Is: America has indicated that after this 30-day relief, it expects India to increase its purchase of American oil. India’s energy security: How strong are the preparations? India imports about 40% of its oil requirement from the Gulf countries, which comes via Hormuz. 25 days of reserves: India currently has 25 days of oil reserves (Strategic Reserves) to meet the demand. Looking for options: In view of the crisis in the Gulf, Indian refineries (Like IOCL, BPCL) are now preparing to immediately import oil from Russia and Latin American countries. Will the problems increase again after April? This exemption is valid only till April 4, 2026. If the war between Iran and America does not stop by then, India will have to look for new sources of energy faster. At present, this 30-day moratorium has given a big ‘breathing space’ to India, due to which oil prices can remain stable in the domestic market.
