Big relief to small industries in UP: Government gave good news

Lucknow. There is good news for small and medium industries in Uttar Pradesh. The state government has implemented new measures to ease the business environment and promote investment. Especially small establishments will now get relief from government inspections and complicated procedures.

Self certification system implemented

Industries falling in low risk category can now avail the benefits of self-certification. Under this, they themselves will have to give proof of following labor laws in their establishment. The department will test it. If everything is found to be fine, the sample survey will be conducted only once in the next five years.

medium risk industries

The government has started the facility of third party audit for industries falling in medium risk category. This will provide transparency and simplicity in the inspection process to industrial establishments.

Application and testing process

Industries will have to upload their applications on the departmental portal (uplabour.gov.in). The application must declare compliance with labor laws. The department will have to examine the application within 60 days. If any error is found during this period, instructions will be given for correction, otherwise the application will be considered automatically approved.

Annual Statement and Inspection

The employer will have to submit the annual return on the portal at the end of each calendar year by 31st January of the following year. Additional inspection will take place only in case of complaint with the permission of the Labor Commissioner. Apart from this, random inspection of only 20 percent of the establishments will be conducted in five years, and this information will be given to the concerned establishments 48 hours in advance.

What will be its effect and benefits?

This new initiative will help small industries save time and effort in the government system. Also, it will become easy and attractive for investors and entrepreneurs to do business in Uttar Pradesh. This step will also strengthen industrial development and employment generation in the state.
