Big revelation in NEET UG re-exam, solver gang caught in Bihar; 24 accused including medical students arrested

New Delhi: A major case of examination irregularities has come to light from Bihar during the NEET UG re-exam. An alleged solver gang has been busted in the joint action of administration and police in Lakhisarai district. In this action, many people have been arrested, from medical students to employees involved in biometric verification. Initial investigation has also indicated that transactions worth lakhs of rupees were made to allow other people to appear in the examination in place of the candidates.

Police and district administration took action at three different examination centers of Lakhisarai and detained a total of 24 people. The arrested accused include 7 alleged solvers, while 14 people are said to be employees of the company which was doing the work of biometric verification at the examination centres. The investigating agencies suspect that preparations were made to take the examination in place of some candidates by others. According to preliminary information, a deal worth up to Rs 30 lakh per candidate was made for this work.

Medical student revealed as mastermind

The name that is being discussed the most during the investigation is that of Arpit Raj. According to officials, Arpit is a student of Gaya Medical College and he is considered to be the main operator of this entire network. It is being told that his name has already come up in a famous examination controversy. In such a situation, once again his name has surfaced in an examination related matter and the investigating agencies are looking at his role seriously.

This is how the layers of the entire gang were revealed.

According to the police, the case came to light due to the activities of a suspicious person. Hajipur resident and PMCH student Mayank Kashyap was seen in suspicious circumstances at the examination centre. Investigation revealed that he had allegedly reached the examination center as an employee of a biometric company. The officials became suspicious of his presence, after which he was taken into custody and interrogated. Based on the information received during the interrogation, the police also took action at other examination centers from where many other people were arrested.

Medical and nursing students are also under investigation

During the investigation, some names have also come to light which are related to medical and nursing education. According to the information, Poonam Kumari, who is studying nursing in BHU, had come to take the exam in place of a candidate. Apart from this, names of Rae Bareli AIIMS student Saurabh Jha, NMCH Patna student Sanjeet and Aman Aggarwal, a medical college student of Uttar Pradesh have also come up in the investigation. Officials say that the role of all these is being investigated in depth.

Police and other investigating agencies are now busy connecting the links of this entire network. Initial investigation has indicated that this matter cannot be limited to just one district or one state. Officials believe that this gang may have contacts with other states also. For this reason, the scope of investigation of the case is being expanded. At present, the interrogation of all the arrested accused is going on and the investigating agencies are trying to find out on what scale the alleged rigging in the examination was planned.
