Number of posts sanctioned in two years decreased by 2.07 lakhs

According to the Finance Department, the number of sanctioned posts in various government departments of the state in the financial year 2022-23 was 533737, which increased to 326049 in the year 2024-25. In this way, the number of government jobs in just two financial years decreased by 207688.

The highest number of sanctioned posts in the education house department

According to a report received from the Finance Department, the main reason for the termination of about two lakh government posts in two years is the termination of the approved post in the Education and Home Department. With the closure and merger of many primary and secondary schools, a large number of teachers also retired and the posts were over. Apart from this, the number of sanctioned posts in many other departments has also decreased. However, there has also been an increase in the number of sanctioned posts in some other departments including health.

1.82 lakh posts in education department in two years

According to the Finance Department, 82841 posts were approved in the Department of Secondary Education in the year 2022-23, which decreased to only 17137 in the year 2024-25. In the year 2022-23, 181706 posts were approved in the Department of Primary Education, which was reduced to 65187 in 2024-25. In this way, the number of posts sanctioned in primary school increased to 116519. At the same time, 65704 sanctioned posts in the Department of Secondary Education have decreased. When it is reported that the posts sanctioned in the primary and secondary education department are reduced, only 182223 in the Education Department.

More than 39 thousand posts in police service

Similarly, when we talk about the Home Department and Police Service, 139734 posts were approved in the Home Department in the year 2022-23, and in 2024-25, it was reduced to 100192. In this way, about 39542 posts in the Home Department also decreased. However, there has also been an increase in the number of sanctioned posts in some other departments including the health department.

1.83 lakh posts were vacant in the year 2022-23

In Jharkhand, 533737 posts were approved in various government departments in the financial year 2022-23, out of which 350721 lakh were vacant posts, while the number of forces working was 183016. Of which out of 139734 posts sanctioned in the Home Department, 63572 were vacant and the number of forces working was 76162. At the same time, out of 82841 posts in the Department of Secondary Education, 73820 posts were vacant and the number of forces working was 9021. Similarly, out of 181706 in the Department of Primary Education, 140024 posts were lying vacant, only 41682 posts were working for the posts.

2.87 lakh posts were vacant in 2023-24

Out of 466494 posts in various government departments in the financial year 2023-24 in the state, 287129 posts were lying vacant. At the same time, the number of posts working was 179365. The number of posts created in health departments was 41956, but 30591 posts remained vacant and the number of forces working in the department was 11365. At the same time, the number of posts created in the Home Department was 133396, out of which 58477 posts were vacant and the number of forces working was 74919. At the same time, out of 70083 sanctioned posts in the Department of Secondary Education, 61139 posts were vacant and the number of forces working was 8944. While out of 117882 posts in the Department of Primary Education, 80896 posts were vacant and the number of forces working was 36986.

More than 1.58 lakh posts vacant in the year 2024-25

In the year 2024-25, 158846 posts out of 326049 are vacant and the number of working forces is 167203. 29038 posts are vacant from the approved 100192 posts of Home Department, while the number of forces working is 29038. At the same time, out of 42302 sanctioned posts in the Health Department, 30353 posts are lying vacant. While the number of working forces is 11949. Similarly, out of 65187 posts sanctioned in the Department of Primary Education, 38160 posts are vacant and the number of forces working is 27027, while 6590 out of 17137 posts sanctioned in the Secondary Education Department are 6590 vacant and the number of working forces is 10547.
