She has become the world number-1 bowler in the ICC T20 bowling rankings. 21-year-old Charani made a great start to the tournament by taking 10 wickets in 3 matches and topped the rankings.
Against Pakistan, he took 3 wickets for 21 runs, while against Netherlands he took 4 wickets for 19 runs. He also took 3 wickets in the match against South Africa, even though Team India had to face defeat.

In the latest ICC rankings, Shri Charani has secured the first position with 753 rating points. She has left behind England’s Linsey Smith, who has now slipped to third place. Charlie Dean is in second place with 733 points.

Position in India’s bowling and batting rankings
Only Shri Charani and Deepti Sharma are included in the top-10 bowling rankings from India. Deepti Sharma has lost three places and is now at eighth position. In the batting rankings, Smriti Mandhana remains at fifth position, Shefali Verma has improved by one place to sixth position, while captain Harmanpreet Kaur has joined the top-10.
