Big step in land survey in Bihar, good news for farmers and owners

Patna. Bihar government has taken a big step to complete the pending land survey works in the state. Revenue and Land Reforms Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha told in the Assembly that now a special campaign will be launched for the lands which have not been surveyed. Its aim is to complete all the pending surveys in the next two years, so that farmers and land owners can get the benefits of schemes and government facilities.

pending survey problem

The minister said that about 20 percent of the land in the state has not been surveyed yet. Due to this, there are obstacles in gathering and determination of rent. Due to this, many farmers are deprived of government schemes and grants, while the buying and selling of land is also being affected. He said that the survey work started in 2012, it was re-evaluated in 2015 and changes were made in it in 2019. Now taking it in mission mode, a target has been set to complete it in two years.

Land disputes stop development

The minister said that land related disputes are not only an administrative problem but also create social tension. He called it “land disease” and said that the state government is providing transparent and quick resolution of disputes through ‘Land Reforms Public Welfare Dialogue’. So far, out of 8363 complaints, 2414 cases have been resolved. This initiative has been appreciated in both the houses.

Revision Application and Priority

A total of 46 lakh applications were received during the Revenue Grand Campaign, out of which about 40 lakh are related to correction (name, account and khesra correction). The government is planning to settle these cases on priority basis, so that land owners can get the benefits of schemes and facilities.

Complete solution will be found through public welfare dialogue

Zone-wise registration counters have been opened to resolve complex land disputes. Through this, people’s complaints are being brought directly for hearing, thereby ensuring quick and transparent resolution of disputes.
