Big step of Dhami government: Now daughters of Uttarakhand will become business leaders

Dehradun: The mother power of Uttarakhand is now not only commanding the house but also the economy of the state. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the ‘Manthon-2025: 5th National Leader’s Summit’ organized at Chief Sevak Sadan in Dehradun on Saturday. In this special women’s conference organized by Business Uttarayani Sanstha, the Chief Minister honored those women who have set an example in the field of startup and self-reliance.

Increasing step of women power and respect of Chief Minister

Addressing the program, Chief Minister Dhami said that this summit is a big platform to promote women entrepreneurs. He stressed that the women of the state have given a new direction to the society with their hard work and innovation. Women’s participation in economic and social development has now become essential. Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mantra ‘Nari Tu Narayani’, the CM said that the Central and State Governments are completely dedicated to the empowerment of women.

The fate of women changed due to the policies of Modi government

The Chief Minister highlighted the big schemes being run for women. He said that schemes like 33 percent reservation in Parliament and Assemblies, Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao, Ujjwala Yojana and Lakhpati Didi have brought revolutionary changes in the lives of women. Eliminating the evil practice like triple talaq and connecting women directly with banking through Jan Dhan Yojana has become the identity of women power of the new India. Today, from army to science and sports, women are hoisting their flag everywhere.

New model of women empowerment in Uttarakhand

Discussing the efforts of the state government, CM Dhami said that new self-employment opportunities are being given to women through Uttarakhand Rural Livelihood Mission and ‘Sashakt Brahmin Utsav Yojana’. Under ‘Mukhyamantri Udyamshala Yojana’, women’s products are being recognized as brands. The state’s products are being made available exclusively on e-commerce platforms through the ‘House of Himalayas’ umbrella brand. The government is also providing incubation facility to more than 15 thousand women entrepreneurs.

Lakhpati Didi and growing network of startups

The Chief Minister proudly shared that there are about 70 thousand self-help groups in Uttarakhand, with which 5 lakh women are associated. Of these, more than 1 lakh 68 thousand women have become ‘Lakhpati Didi’, which is a history in itself. The Chief Minister also informed that Uttarakhand has got the category of Achievers in ‘Ease of Doing Business’ and Leaders in Startup Ranking. Apart from this, the government has provided legal strength to the safety and rights of women by providing 30 percent reservation to women in government jobs and implementing Uniform Civil Code (UCC).
